I am a music lover, but I don’t have the talent to compose a song. If you are one in a million songwriters (amateur or professional) from Eastern Visayas, It’s Your Time to Shine. Share your talent in composing songs by joining the “2^nd Kamurayaw Music Festival” a Songwriting Competition of Kalahi-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Service) in Region 8.

Here’s how to join:

The competition is open to all songwriters (amateur or professional) who are Filipino citizenship or of Filipino descent residing in Eastern Visayas. For minors who are willing to enter, secure a written consent from your parent or guardian.

Rules:

1. Number of Entries – submit a maximum of three (3) songs.
2. Song Requirement – an original composition and all rights of copyright to the entry song must be owned exclusively by the participant.
3. Lyrics – must be in Filipino, Waray, Bisaya or a combination of these languages.
4. Form and Length of the Song:
   1. Composition must be in accordance with the over-all theme “Kalahi-CIDSS Community Driven Development
   2. Song entry could be based on any genre; Pop, Rock, Ballad, R&B, etc.
   3. At least three (3) minutes song duration but not more than four (4) inclusive of intro and extro
   4. Musical composition is final once submitted and may not be altered or modified prior to the selection of Top 8 Finalist who shall compete for the Grand Finals or the Kamurayaw Music Festival.

Criteria for Judging:

Musicality, Artistry and Creativity – 30%

Lyrics, Content and Messaging – 30%

Originality – 30%

Song Impact – 10%

Prizes:

First Prize – Php 15,000.00

Second Prize – Php 10,000.00

Third Prize – Php 7,000.00
