Gasping fresh air, glimpsing the majestic mountains and natural scenic, I’m enjoying all of these right now while writing this post. Yours truly is feeling lucky now for staying once again in San Juanico Golf Course and Resort, a vacation paradise in Leyte, Philippines.
The resort is situated in the north part of Tacloban City, Leyte and accessible with public utility vehicles. San Juanico Golf Course and Resort come with 18 holes manicured golf course surrounded by majestic mountain views of Eastern Visayas. They have complete facilities for several gatherings such as weddings, anniversaries, corporate functions and workshops. Actually, I’m checked-in, here in 5 days for the agency I’m working with is having a Regional Fiduciary Workshop of the fund disbursed for the community sub-project. As a Financial Analyst in KALAHI CIDSS-NCDDP (Kapit-bisig Laban SA Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services National Community Driven Development Program) a poverty reduction program of DSWD we do the auditing of fund disbursed by different municipalities which mostly conducted in function halls of hotels or resorts that can accommodate numbers of participants. So, I am here together with colleagues not for vacay but for work, which gives me a chance as well to share my thoughts on the stay, foods and services of the hotel.
Oops, enough of my side story, let’s talk more about the hotel’s food, stay, services and find the latest coupons and vouchers for the resort! A spacious, viewing the wonders of nature and airy restaurant serves deli Filipino, Continental and American cuisine. They have friendly hotel staffs that are ready to accommodate guest’s needs. The rooms offer maximum privacy, comfort and picturesque scenery.
Room rates are as follows:
- Outer room – patio with view – PHP 3,000.00
- Inner room – PHP 2,500.00
- Executive Suite – PHP 6,000.00
Executive suite comes with a lanai and patio viewing the wonderful sceneries created by Daddy God. A massage, stress away chair and treadmill.
Is walking or jogging in your daily to do list? A trail perfect for walking and jogging is available. In fact, I just have my fitness routine this morning, and I so love it, because aside from the fresh air that I breathe in, sunrise embraces my morning. They also have swimming pool and kiddie pool for you to splish-splash. Pool and cottage rates are as follows for guests not in-house.

This golf course resort was established in the late sixties with 9-hole golf course and a small club house of G.I. sheets of less than 100 sq. meters by a congressman and his friends. Then in 1984 the golf course was abandoned for 22 years until a named Victor A. Domingo in year 2006, on his own rehabilitated the said place, and expanded it to 18-holes with a beautiful clubhouse, an impressive swimming pool, rooms and other amenities.
A highly recommended place. I love the scenic view that surrounds, fresh air, friendly staff, warm water of the swimming pool at night, and the function rooms for seminars and workshops. Actually, our team will be here again by end week of October for a Financial Analysts Conference. I suggest, add San Juanico Golf Course and Resort in your bucket list of places to stay in Leyte.

My husband grew up in Isabel, Leyte. We’ve never visited his hometown yet. We’re hoping to be able to visit in 2017 or 2018 and of course, when there, I’d like to also be able to visit Tacloban.

The last time i visited Leyte was in 2000 for a Leaders’ conference. I was also one of the Gawad Kaling volunteers who helped building houses there. Leyte is such a beautiful place. I would love to come back soon for leisure and this time with my husband. I will definitely consider San Juanico Golf Course and Resort on my next Leyte trip!
