One of my son’s favorite snack is turon (deep-fried banana rolls) a classic Filipino food. Turon is mostly serve as meryenda (snack) and dessert. An easy to do snack and the ingredients are very common and budget friendly.
5 saba bananas (plantains) cut into half lengthwise
1 and half cup brown sugar
10 pieces spring roll wrapper
2 cups cooking oil
Steps in Cooking
Peel the banana and cut into half lengthwise. Place the banana in the spring roll wrapper, fold and lock the spring roll wrapper. To seal the edge use water. In a pan, heat oil and put brown sugar. Wait until the brown sugar floats. Add the wrapped banana, fry until the wrapper turns wrapper brown
Serve and enjoy the snack!
